Visit Bhutan–not as a country, but as your friend’s home

Ninad’s tale with Bhutan traces back to a time when the country didn’t make the headlines as the Land of Happiness – a time when the land was still unexplored and stories were largely untold. After spending close to a decade in Bhutan, across seasons, Ninad not only learnt their ways, he adapted to them, embracing it as a way of living. His Bhutan covers the prettiest rest stop on the way to Tiger’s Nest, it introduces you to a condiment so addictive, you’ll have second thoughts about that chilli pickle. The difference in experience is not attributed to newer locations, it’s rather the spotlight on what was hiding in plain sight, all along.

Most would say that he’s been bitten by the wanderlust bug, but Ninad would deny that with a shy smile. It’s deeper than that for him, wanderlove being more appropriate in this case. His love story with travel, more specifically with the mountains started back in ‘99, in Manali and then there was no looking back.

After a decade long relationship with Bhutan, he considers this equation as an evolving friendship – one which isn’t bound by what ‘must-be’, but is rather always growing, exploring, changing and truthfully, he has an ulterior motive here; Ninad not only wants you to witness the bond he shares with his homeland but also wants you to build your own story with it.
